Ravenswood Single Family Home

The Owners of a Single Family Residence in the Ravenswood Manor area desired a modern renovation to their existing home. The featured work comprised the Kitchen, Master Bedroom Suite, powder room and exterior facades.

The exterior of the building was “skinned” and re-clad with aluminum siding and copper panels, used in the traditional vernacular of the neighborhood. This traditional skin masks the modern spaces of the interior.

For the Master Bedroom Suite, which encompasses the entire third floor and is composed of a bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. These three functions are intertwined where the light of the closet becomes a light fixture for the bathroom; the bathroom is set apart from the bedroom by a layering of walls and glass.  Light from the bathroom leaks into the bedroom through a double-sided medicine cabinet.  The steam shower and whirlpool were set under a large skylight to evoke the feeling of being outside.
