Bucktown Single Family Home

Project Description

The Owners, who had recently purchased a home from a developer, sought an upgrade to the proposed building. We were asked to provide Interior Design services for the Kitchen, Powder Room, Master Bathroom and Guest Bathroom, Study and Garden.

The design concept was to create islands of modernity set within a semi-traditional building. Through contrast with the rough hewed masonry walls, the interior spaces would be light in texture, color and feeling. The spaces were composed of metals, glass tiles and reflective stones.

The kitchen solution was to provide an island as the focal point of the space. The island is multi-functional: “prep”, “production” and “presentation”. The pole system was positioned to establish the boundary of the space in tandem with decorative function. Select appliances and finishes: Viking Range, SubZero Refrigeration, Bosch Dishwasher, Uba Tuba Granite, Butcherblock Countertop, Stainless Steel Countertop and a back painted glass backsplash.

The Master Bath has a combination of pillowed and flat cut limestone tied together with a belt of black granite.
